Stelbel

Founder: Stelio Belletti

Founded: Rodano, Milan in 1973

Stelbel Bicycles was founded by Italian engineer Stelio Belletti, a skilled craftsman with a background in aeronautical welding. Leveraging his expertise in precision welding techniques, Belletti applied advanced aerospace-grade construction methods to bicycle frame building, making Stelbel one of the pioneers of TIG-welded steel frames.

At a time when most bicycle manufacturers relied on lugged construction, Belletti’s innovation in TIG welding allowed for lighter, stronger, and more aerodynamic frames. His designs quickly gained attention in the competitive cycling world. In 1975, his frames played a crucial role in the national cycling team’s success at the UCI World Championships, where they secured a gold medal.

Over the years, Stelbel Bicycles developed a reputation for high-performance, handcrafted frames with a unique aesthetic and exceptional durability. The brand became synonymous with innovation, pushing the boundaries of what was possible with steel bicycle frames

Today Stelbel build the finest steel, stainless steel and Titanium frames in the world.
